“This was my first time doing this kind of thing and I was a wee bit worried that I would look like a fool (like I feel struggling with equipment at the gym).  Maybe I did look like a fool, but it was so much fun that I didn’t care!

 

The drills were well balanced so that I felt myself looking forward to the next step instead of dreading another repetition.  The next day all the parts I wanted to hurt, did hurt.  To top it all off, the setting is beautiful.  I really can’t think of a better way to get in shape and have fun doing it!”

Summer 2008 

"Boot camp with Sandra is awesome. 

 
I said goodbye to the indoor gym, complicated machines ... noisy, boring and crowded.  Said hello to the outdoor beautiful surroundings of Kitsilano Park. 
 
Even though I thought my body was too worn out, I challenged myself at age 70+ and built up muscle, increased my cardio, became much more agile and raised my resistance to colds.  I achieved a higher level of strength and confidence. All in a supportive FUN atmosphere. Just when you think you know it all, Sandra (who really knows her stuff) slips in a few surprises to set the bar a little bit higher and offer a new goal."

May 2010“My daughter and I have been working out with Sandra in the outdoor boot camp for over a year, and she is an enthusiastic, supportive, and creative fitness leader.  My overall strength has increased and my muscles are toned better than if I had been lifting weights in a gym.  The cross training from the boot camp workouts has improved my running – my pace and endurance has increased.  There is a lot of variety, and each class is a little different.  Your fitness level doesn’t matter – you do what you can, and work as hard as you want!  The best part is that you are outside!”

“I started going to Sandra’s outdoor boot camp with my mom about a year ago.  When I first started, I couldn’t jog for more than 5 minutes.  After a couple of months, I was able to last 15 minutes without having to stop!  Sandra is a lot of fun, encourages me to do more, and helps me through the workout when I’m struggling.  I really like that we do different things each time, so it keeps me interested.”
